What IS Your Life?

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, then vanisheth away."
-James 4:14

I don't know about others, but all the 9/11 stuff really has been making me nervous.  Yes, God is in control, and He promised He would never leave or forsake us.  But, I'm human, and I still tend to worry...I'm working on it.  :)

Throughout the night, (11pm-2am) I saw several unfamiliar trucks speed down our road.  Around midnight, a firetruck with all it's lights flashing raced by our house.  Then there was also airplanes at rare times.  Not to mention several threats of terrorist attacks, car bombs, etc.  We didn't know about it ten years ago, so how do we know what they might do this time?  They've got even more of a reason why they would want to do something to us, anyways.

All these thoughts were racing through my head last night. (Or should I say this morning? ;)) so, I read the book of James before bed.  One question kept coming to my mind, "If something were to happen..." (since it's not 100% that something will), then I came across James 4:14-15.  It made me really think, "What is my life?"  Well, according to that verse, - it's a vapor. It comes, then quickly goes.  Why should I be afraid if something were to happen?  Besides, isn't dying our gain?

"For ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that."
Whatever happens today, if something happens, it'll all be what He wants.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Lord's Day!  :)

Spanish Camp

Last week we had our 3rd Spanish Camp.  My favorite part of it is that it's, Spanish Family Camp.  =)
This was my first year having a camera to take with me.  It went with me everywhere!

Gettin' ready to leave...

We're here.

Uh oh...;)

'

This pretty much sums up Thursday and Saturday...

But there was some nice weather later on in the day...

Did my Bible reading here Friday Morning...

This is also the lake where we do canoeing... 'cause of Irene, we didn't get to do it this year.  :( :(

Uhh...this needs an explanation.  ;)  I got up at 5 to help with breakfast on Thurs.  I was the only one awake in my cabin so I didn't turn the light on.  I heard, uh, lets just say something really weird happened, so I quickly ran out the cabin..and apparently didn't see what I put on my feet.

You can read more about this here --

At the fire...

The next morning we packed, had breakfast, had a morning session, and left.  We left a lot earlier than usual 'cause of the hurricane. There was barely any traffic, 'cause most of the area had already been evacuated.  We made it home just as it started to rain.  :)

It's been a while...

When I first started this blog I thought it would be the easiest thing to keep updated.  Well this summer has been quite intersting!  ;)  Tomorrow is my last "Official" day of summer babysitting.  :-/  I have to watch the Marcucci boys at they're house one day next week, and that's it!  I can't believe it!  It seems like it was just May, and now it's almost mid-August.  In some ways I am kinda glad of no more babysitting. It was stressful this year since a certain little fellow has become quite...bad this past year!  ;)  The down's are-- school is soon to start, which means fall is near.  :-/  I know several people who love fall, but I don't care for it, at all.  :)  Shorter days, not being able to walk barefoot outside, leaves dying, getting old, etc.  But there are some things to still look forward to this summer...  Mr. and Mrs. Corbett coming up here, possibly (and hopefully!!!) Steven and Anna...and Eva (:)) too; Spanish Camp; a certain "hobby" (I guess that would be a good word!) that I'm really excited about starting. ;) ;) ;)

These past few weeks I haven't used my camera much, but there were some things that I enjoyed capturing of my summer. :)
For one, this purse. ;) Mrs. Bohac (an extremely talented seamstress) made this for me! It's one of my favorites!..even though I used to tease ladies with big purses! ;)

This was a hot and dry summer...so this sky was SO nice to see, though it didn't rain that day! :P
We gave my mom a surprise party for her birthday...
One of the best things of this summer is that Ava is here! :D
He makes me laugh so hard at times... I have no idea where that face came from! ;)

I also learned how to make him take a nap, too. I just put on a movie that is uninteresting to him (in this case, One Six Right) I sometimes put on Andy Griffith or something like that...and it works!

There were some awesome clouds out one night...

This summer has also been a great time for me to learn.  One thing that I've finally concluded and am at peace with is--God's way is always best.  No matter how much I think it would be better my way, He's got a purpose and has taught me much this past summer and year.  At times I do feel like things are being ripped away from my heart (such as dear friends moving), but He knows what He's doing and that's that.   :)
